I wanted to do some research and make something of substance for this next drop. The Birmingham Barons have a lot of history and with me living in Alabama for some time, I felt like I should shed more light on it. Michael Jordan could have done a lot of things but he chose to play baseball in 1994. He was signed to the Chicago White Sox but had to go to a minor league team to develop his skills first. That team was the Birmingham Barons. If I wanted to tell this story, I had to touch the soil too. I haven’t been back to Alabama in years and I’m glad I finally did. I’ve learned so much and I hope you guys do too as well. While in Birmingham, I visited the Negro Southern League museum and hit a few Barons game to really see the atmosphere. Although, his time on the Barons was short lived, it shouldn’t be overlooked. This jersey represents not being too big to challenge yourself. The greatest basketball player at the time, chose to break away and challenge himself to play baseball. He fell forward. Cydonians aren’t scared to fail because there’s always a lesson that comes with it. I learn all my lessons the hard way but I’ve been blessed enough to always bounce back.
